What’s In My Room?

Okay so I lied, I didn’t do a post over the weekend but there is a good reason for that! Firstly I’ve been really busy getting everything ready for my Photography deadline which you’ll be pleased to know is Monday! And secondly I now have picked a rather nasty stomach bug of some sort which feels like someone has stabbed me in the stomach repeatedly, so I am sat here writing, hunched over, in my dressing gown, probably looking like a total twit but I really want to do this post!

Anyway onto the main post! Today I thought I’d do a bit of a fun post, you seemed to enjoy my beauty favourites (I plan to do another of those in Feb sometime!) so I thought I’d do a similar sort of thing and show and tell you about interesting things in my bedroom. I’ve tried to keep anything I’ve mentioned in earlier blog posts out just to keep it fresh, also there’s no CD’s or makeup/ beauty stuff simply because I want to do that in a separate post. This are just things I like in my room! So let’s get started!

First up is this!

'Trust Me I'm The Doctor!' Mug :)
‘Trust Me I’m The Doctor!’ Mug 🙂

So I got this for my 18th birthday last September by a very good friend who knows only too well just how much I adore Doctor Who, yes I am little obsessed! I can not wait for the new series with Peter Capaldi! Ahh it’s gonna be good! (But that’s another blog post!) Anyhow, I really love this mug and even though I’m not really a hot drink drinker I’ve found a place for it in my room. It usually stores some of my many pens and pencils on my desk!

Next up we have!….

A lovely piece of New York art work! <3
A lovely piece of New York art work! ❤

I went through a period of being obsessed with art work and photography in or about New York and I still do to a certain extent. I’ve always loved New York, and after going there with my school for the first time in 2011 it just made me love it more! We went to all the art galleries and did a whole lot of site seeing which was simply amazing, it is my dream to return one day and share the experience with my family as they haven’t been yet. I love this image, its like a photograph collage including the statue of Liberty, the classic yellow taxi and road signs and streets all behind glass giving it a beautiful shiny finish. I just love it! I have another photograph from New York in my room, but this one is my fav!

Then….

Me and dog when he was a little puppy! awwww!
Me and dog when he was a little puppy! awwww!

I’ve had this in my room a loooonnnnggggg time. I’m not sure exactly how old he is in this photo but he must be under a year old. I look so young too! He used to lie on my stomach like that and snuggle into my neck, ah I love him so much! For those of you who don’t know I have a dog (obviously) and his name is Rudie and he’s a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and he’s adorable! I don’t know what I’d do without him. He’s five now, six this June which is scary to think we’ve had him that long! But yes, so this picture will be staying in my room for a very long time to come!

'You're a Hoot!' and 'Hope' stones.
‘You’re a Hoot!’ and ‘Hope’ stones.

Although some these little stones have somewhat pride of place on my desk. There a lovely little pick me up and just nice to hold. The little owl one saying ‘You’re a Hoot!’ was given to me in my stocking at Christmas and the ‘Hope’ one I’ve had for quite a while, but I think I bought it at one the many craft fairs I love going too!

Next up….

The many shoes of Lucy Jayne, and these aren't all!
The many shoes of Lucy Jayne, and these aren’t all!

So I have a lot of shoes and these are not all of them! I have more Doc Martins and other pumps that aren’t in my room, again that’s another blog post! But here are just a small selection of my wonderful shoes! Going from front to back, firstly I have a pair of the shoe Doc Martin’s in patent leather white. I really love this and find they look great with tights and dresses/skirts or ankle grazer jeans with little socks. Then I have some little heeled boots in a sort of caramel colour. I think they were from New Look a while ago. Then there’s a pair of slightly more expensive boot, with a bit more of a heel, they’ve got a lush furry collar with multicoloured fabric round the back. I then have a pair of Doc Martin boots in a brown leather that lace up at the front with a small heel. Finally there’s my pink patent leather Doc Martins! As I said I have many others and plan to do a full blog post on my shoes in the near future!

Whats next you cry?

My wall of stuff!
My wall of stuff!

This is my ever growing wall of stuff! There’s everything up there from bands I like, for example, The Vamps, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix. There’s post cards from friends and photos I’ve taken on holiday or for photography at college. There’s also my Christmas card from my parents and images of my FAVOURITE actors like the beautiful Tom Hiddleston and Eddie Redmayne, including my hand written picture from him!!!! CHECK IT OUT!!

OH MY GOOOOODDD! :D
OH MY GOOOOODDD! 😀

Yes the day that arrived I quite literally lost it 😉 It says, ‘Lucy, thank you for your kind letter, best wishes Eddie.’ Oh man, I still can’t believe it 😀

*Okay calm Lucy, calm….*

Right, moving on!

The Mushroom
The Mushroom

On a much more serious note, this is an exceptionally important piece in my room. This mushroom was made by a very well known and pretty famous I would say glass maker, but that’s not what makes it special. My granny decided to have her husbands, my granddads ashes put into a piece of glass for each one of her children and grandchildren and I decided to have a mushroom. It’s a very special piece obviously and means a lot to me, its nice to have something to remember him by and to always know that he’s there.

Okay, nearing the end now…

'Lucy Happy 18th Birthday Love Emma'
‘Lucy
Happy 18th Birthday
Love Emma’

This is the lid from a another birthday present as it happens! This one is a little silver plated box engraved with the above caption. I love it as it’s really personal and special to me. I’ve found great use for it, storing all my kirby grips and slides that usually just get eaten up by the floor or something…. So thank you Emma! I really love it and it’s being used well! 😀

The Apple!
The Apple!

This ones just another fun one really. I do really love things like this though. It’s an apple made out of fabric, checked type fabric for the apple itself and then like green felt for the leaves and a real twig (I think!) for the stem! I just think it’s really cute!

Mother and Daughter Figurine
Mother and Daughter Figurine

I don’t honestly remember where this came from, but it’s very likely my mum got it for me. It’s a mother and daughter figurine that fit together, it’s got like a dappled effect over it and its very simplistic but I think it’s really sweet, it certainly reminds me just how close me and my mum are and its a lovely reminder that she’ll always be there for me 🙂 I love it dearly.

Finally! (cue the chorus of *thank god* 😉 )

My watch!
My watch!

This is my watch! I wear this one everyday now, but it used to be my ‘expensive one, for special occasions’ however the battery on my everyday one decided to stop and I’ve just not got round to getting another one for it yet so I’ve been using this one. I really like this watch, it’s got a nice weight to it and its just feminine enough with being too girly. However one thing I have noticed about it is that if I bring my hand up to brush my hair away from my face or whatever, my hair gets stuck in the strap bit and then as I pull my hand away it rips out my hair! Ouch! So I do have to be a little careful! But I love it nonetheless! ❤

And there we have it! The hopefully long awaited blog post! I hope you enjoyed having a peek around my room and taking a look at some of my favourite things! If nothing else this blog post has given me some brilliant ideas for my next post which is great because I’ve been suffering from the dreaded writers block a while! 😦 boo! But anyway, I hope you liked it and please do leave me a comment about what you thought, feedback is much appreciated!

Talk to you soon!
