So today I’m doing more of a chatty post and I’m going to be talking all about no makeup days!
So firstly let me say, I love makeup as much as the next girl. I love buying it, using it, experimenting with it and it does make me feel more confident. However I also have quite a few ‘No Makeup’ days and the more I do it, the more I’m starting to feel confident in my own skin.
I really think we, as girls, should start to appreciate our natural beauty just a little bit more and it never hurts to let our skin breath the odd day. I am very far from being happy about the way I look without makeup on, in fact when I have no makeup on I tend to just avoid mirrors a little. But again this bad because no one looks ‘ugly’ without makeup. We’ve all just gotten used to this ‘ideal’ which includes basically always wearing makeup and looking flawless (which no one is!), which makes it seems catastrophic when someone is seen without makeup on.
I personally feel great when I’ve had no makeup on, my skin feels clean and fresh and just natural. Now don’t get me wrong, I will most likely only have no makeup days when I don’t have anything particularly planned apart from walking the dog, or just popping to the local shop but I have toned my makeup down a lot more recently in general. Instead of quite bold eye shadows I’ll go a lot simpler with maybe just a bit of smudged eye liner on my top lid and mascara. I will still go with concealer and then my Mac Studio Fix over the top, but I have actually really enjoyed taking my makeup back to basics.
I just want to encourage you all to have more no makeup days and feel okay about that. I still love getting dolled up but its nice to do the opposite sometimes too! And if people see you with no makeup on they make a comment, then maybe aren’t the kind of person you want in your life!
So basically give your skin a break every now then, never apologise for no makeup and wear makeup for the right reasons! For you!
Anyways, if you enjoy no makeup days let me know!
Today I have another review for you and its also another Benefit product, what can I say, I love them!
Today I’m talking brows! Now I’m not an expert in brow products because until recently I’d just sort of left my brows to their own devices as they are quite thick and relatively well shaped on their own.
But I decided I wanted a product to kind of keep them in shape, and just naturally fill in any gaps. My mum has this product too and she swears buy it so I thought I would give it a shot.
It comes in two shades and I obviously got the darker shade. I love this product so much! It looks so natural on brows, its small brush makes it so easy to apply and it keeps brows in shape. Its build able so you can go as natural or fuller as you want, which again is great. It adheres to skin and hairs to give your brows a fuller, shapely brows in an instant!
This product is £17.50 which I don’t think is too bad, simply because of how much I love it! I think you just have to try it to see what I mean!
Have you ever tried GimmeBrow? Or are there any other brow products you recommend?
Today I’m going to do a makeup product review for you! So this product has been out a good few weeks and its been getting rave reviews from most people, so thought I would add my own opinion in there. You’ll know by now from the title I’m talking about Benefits new mascara Roller Lash!
I feel like this product was hyped up quite a lot in the beauty world in the run up to its release which led to people having pretty high expectations of it. Although having read many reviews from other people it seems to have lived up to it.
Firstly the packaging is gorgeous, I have to give them that. Its pretty and girly without being too over the top. The handle is nicely grippy in a peachy pink colour and the rest is black with the same peachy pink stating the name. CUTE.
So this mascara claims to be ‘rollers for lashes’ aiming to separate, lift, curl and set your lashes. Whats new right? Well the brush is slightly curved and does look like it might actually do something. Its a plastic brush and doesn’t clog.
It separates lashes well, and does lift and curl. I’ve found I have to work quite hard sometimes to get my lashes to do what I want with this mascara but I don’t know if thats just my lashes! It definitely sets them for the day though and lasts. It also doesn’t feel too ‘heavy’ on your lashes which is nice.
As with any Benefit product its not the cheapest, but then again there are many other more expensive brands. This mascara is £19.50, which is pretty standard for Benefit and I would definitely consider buying this mascara again.
Overall I would give this mascara 8/10.
Hello! Yes again I missed a blog post last week, but let me tell you, the end of last week was incredibly stressful for me, and this week I fear won’t be much better, I have some rather big decisions to make…. However! Lets get on with a nice upbeat blog post! I went to Homesense recently which we have here in England, I don’t know about anywhere else, but its like a home ware shop and it’s brilliant! I bought a few little things (mostly notebooks) and I thought I would share them with you! First up!! This was my most expensive purchase, and me and my mum are currently fighting over it, haha! It was £40. Its basically a wallet/purse with a specially designed pocket to fit your iPhone.
I thought this would be really great on a night out, if you literally just want to take your phone and some money. Or if you don’t want your phone floating around in the bottom of your bag.
I think I may have mentioned this in a previous post but I am currently really into Yoga and Pilates so I saw this book, and for like £3.99 I thought, ‘I’m having that!’ Its really good for showing you poses and what they are good for. I really like this book.
Then its onto the notebooks!
a little close up of them….
Was you can see I love a good quote notebook. As usual I don’t know what I’m going to use these for, but I just love them all! They are all A5 (I think!) in size apart from the grey one which is bigger. It’s not quite A4, its more square. I just love notebooks, I think its the possibility!
Anyways, there’s my little Homesense haul, hope you enjoyed!
Today I’m going to talk about my favourite face washes!
I have recently bought a new face wash which I have to say I’ve been loving! But I do have others that I like to use too, so I thought I would share them with you!
I do try and use face washes every day but as you will probably know thats not always possible. I like to use them especially when I’ve got a bit more time to pamper myself, and also if I’m going to have a non makeup day.
So here they are!!
I’ve had this a pretty long time, and recently its been shoved in a bathroom cabinet hence why it looks quite mucky. However I have used this quite, its got good stuff in it, Manuka honey and tea tree which are both really good for your skin. I have to say I never saw a huge difference in my skin when using this, but my skin has kind of gotten worse recently, so maybe its because I have been using this!
I really like this one! Its exactly what it says, a foam, which is really nice and feels good on your face. This one is aimed at reducing oil which leads to shine on your face. I try and use this regularly but I’ll pick it up more when my face is feeling especially oily. I think this does work, and its just nice to use.
This is my favourite and my most recent purchase in terms of face washes. Now I don’t go in the Body Shop a lot, mostly because I have this idea that they are really expensive and I’ll just see things that I can’t afford anyways. But the other day I went in with a purpose and that was to look at their Tea Tree range. I’ve actually been having a bit of a problem with my skin recently and I thought Tea Tree would really help so I bought this. It was £5 so incredibly reasonable I feel! I LOVE using this! It smells divine, it lathers nicely and leaves your skin feeling just really clean and soft. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I feel it really has helped my skin a lot too!
Do you have any fav face washes at the moment? Let me know!
Today I have another review for you, and this is on the Real Techniques Bold Metals collection!
Now if you are a makeup enthusiast you most likely already know about Real Techniques, so you may well know what I’m talking about. Basically if you haven’t heard of Real Techniques they are a brand of luxury makeup brushes created by Youtube stars Nic and Sam AKA Pixiwoo.
Now as they are pretty expensive brushes I only bought two because those are the ones that I needed most, but there are seven in total.
Here are the ones I bought:
I bought the 200 Oval Shadow (on the left) and the 301 Flat Contour (on the right). First impressions, obviously they are extremely nice looking and just ooze professionalism. They are weighted so they do feel really nice in your hand and the brushes themselves are SUPER soft. I find the flat contour is perfect for bronzer and highlighter and even though the oval shadow is a bigger brush than I’m used to for eyes, I’ve been getting used to it and have to say I’ve loving both.
They are extremely and I’ve still deciding if they are just a little too pricey for makeup brushes. These two were £15.00 for the oval shadow and £22.00 for the flat contour. Altogether they range from an affordable £10 to a slightly crazy £25.00.
Having said that they are lovely and if you are prepared to pay a little extra then you will get some mighty fine brushes. I mean just look how pretty they are! haha
Anyway, let me know if you have any of these brushes and how you’ve been getting on with them!
Today I’m talking about hair masks! I bought two the other day in the hope they would transform my hair into some gorgeous, shiny, sleek locks!
First one I picked up was the TRESemmé Intense Smoothing Treatment Masque which was £1 in Sainsburys and it looks like this:
As you can see its a one use product which is why its only a £1. So firstly, whether or not that will prove to be better or worse value for money compared to a pot, we shall see!
This one is an in shower use, so you do your shampoo then squeeze out excess water and put this in, leave it for 3-5 minutes and rinse. This I find slightly annoying as if you are just having a shower you kind of have to just wait for 5 minutes before rinsing. I know you have to wash your body and face etc, but still this might only take you a minute.
First impressions, it felt really nice on my hair in the shower and also had a really nice smell to it. It was quite thick which meant it felt like it was really going to sink into my hair and actually make a difference.
As my hair dried it did feel slightly softer, I say slightly, there was no magical difference. However when my hair had fully dried it did feel softer, shinier and silkier. It hasn’t effected the ‘look’ of my hair too much but it does there is subtle difference.
To be honest I saw no magical difference although my hair was softer and had less frizz. I would give this hair mask around 6/10
