Product Review: Benefit’s Big Easy

So today I have a beauty product review for you lovely people!

Benefit’s latest product came out recently so I immediately went out and picked it up to try. This product is…..

Benefit's Big Easy!
Benefit’s Big Easy! £27.50

Benefit’s Big Easy! On the front it says, ‘Bigger than BB Big Easy liquid to powder, oil free multi-balancing complexion perfector’ It is also an SPF 35. And on the back it says, ‘This multi-balancing complexion perfector melts into skin like a cream, yet finishes like a powder. One & done… BIG EASY saves the day!’

I used to use Maybelline’s Dream pure 8 in 1 BB cream for oily skin in light and I loved it and still do but wanted to try this one out because I also love Benefit products (as I must have said quite a lot now!).

It was quite a different product to the Maybelline one as the BB cream obviously doesn’t claim to finish as a powder as the Benefit one does. This means it’s slightly harder to blend in than a normal BB cream however the finished look when you have blended it in is pretty brilliant. It’s slightly heavier coverage, as in I didn’t have to put as much concealer on round my eyes after, yet it does feel really light on my face when blended.

It also sinks in really well and matches my skin tone almost perfectly, which is a bonus obviously! However at a rather expensive £27.50 for a relatively small bottle/tube it may be a little over the top for some people. Comparing to the Maybelline one I used to use at about £8 I think it does seem quite expensive, but I think it’s well worth a go. I’ve been getting on well with it and am loving it more everyday, I think it just takes time to adjust sometimes to a new product.

Overall I think Big Easy lives up to its claims and does feel very light with good coverage however it is quite expensive for £27.50, I am going to give it 81/2 out of 10, just to be awkward!

Let me know if you’ve tried this product and what you think, or if there are any other BB creams/ foundation type products you are loving at the moment!

Stress busters!

Hello again!

So for many students around the world we are now on the count down to exams! For me it’s my final exams before I leave college, so it’s pretty nerve wracking and I know for many of us (including me!) its an incredibly stressful period whatever exams you are taking.

So with this in mind I have put together my top five stress busters! hopefully they will help you too!

1# A nice hot bath with some of your favorite products in can be really relaxing after a long day. A lot of the time we feel we don’t have time for a bath with revision and work, but try and find time at least once a week to indulge in a nice long soak. Some of my favy products for in the bath at the moment are the Radox stress relief bath therapy, it makes lovely bubbles and has a beautiful feel good scent, and pretty much any Lush product!

2# A walk to clear your head is another way to just make you feel a little more alive. Even though its the last thing you may feel like doing, a walk  can help relieve stress and also if you’re getting frustrated with things it will help get out some of that! #walkitoff

3# Watch your favorite TV programme, DVD or read a book. Simply taking your mind of the worrying, stressful situation of revision and work can help take you away for awhile. I find losing myself in a book for an hour can help refresh me and ready to face another round of revision!

4#  Have a room sort out, or simply do something that you enjoy doing and is productive at the same time. As well as having a little tidy up or sort out of my bedroom I really like doing little scrap books and putting together notebooks of things I like, so when I’m feeling down or lacking a little bit of motivation or creativity I can look back on them.

5# Talk to someone. Have a giggle with a friend about your celeb crush, or cuddle up with your mum on the sofa for a bit, (you are NEVER too old). As they say a problem shared is a problem halved.

So I hope these little tips help you out as you start your revision, and remember it will be over and it WILL be worth it in the long run, hang on in there!

The dreaded, hated, feared……WRITERS BLOCK

So I think its fair to say I’ve been suffering from this horrible infliction for at least a couple of weeks. I’ve got to that stage with my novel where it’s so very near the end and that’s why its so frustrating when I simply can’t write.

I know this is such a common problem for writers it’s almost boring to hear about it again but because it is such a common problem I thought talking about it together might help not just me but all you other stuck writers out there!

So is anyone suffering from writers block at the moment? And do you have any tips for people stuck on there novel?

Shopping Haul!

So I’m back with a MASSSIIIVVVEEE shopping haul, yes I may have spent a little too much yesterday, but I am very happy with all my purchases.

There’s quite a mix in there, I went a bit crazy in Primark’s beauty section, and clothes to be fair, but there’s also makeup from Benefit and some other bits and bobs, so enjoy!

I mainly went into town to buy myself some new high waisted shorts, I only have one pair at the moment and I wear them constantly with leggings or tights in the winter and nothing in the summer. They were from Primark originally so that’s why I decided to go there to get some new ones. I really like high waisted shorts as I find they are not too short around the bum area and I like tucking T-shirts into them to achieve a cute, poppy look.

These were the first pair I spied, I liked the little belt round the top with stars punched through it and I also liked the darker denim with lighter patches on the thigh. These were a bargain in the sale at a fiver!

These were the second pair I picked up, (sorry for the line on the photo, silly WordPress!) These are a lighter coloured denim and I thought for £15 for two pairs of shorts I’d just buy both. I like these ones because they just seem a little more summery to me.

Still in the clothes section of Primark, I then found a beautiful top that I decided I just had to have!

Denim, floral top, Primark, £8

I really like this top, it comes down just to your hips and with a high neck means you can get away with not wearing anything underneath, or just a little crop top maybe, which is good because the back is then a scoop fastened with a small silver button at the top. I thought this would be perfect for summer, with jeans or even my new shorts, why not bring back the double denim!

I also think it would be easy to layer for those cooler evenings and the winter months, just throw on a cute, over sized cardigan and go!

Selection of camisoles, Primark, £2

I then just grabbed some more little camisoles to put under things, I love these for layering, or just on there own in summer, but mostly I wear these under things and layer them up. Again for £2 these are brilliant!

My next item I picked up in Primark was a beautiful bag. I’d been in a very expensive shop with my mum the other day and seen a gorgeous pastel pink handbag and kind of fell in love with it, however as it was still stupidly expensive even in the sale I left it. Then on going into Primark, I saw this lovely bag that looks a lot like it and for £9 I grabbed it!

I really like this handbag, I wanted one with shorter straps and I found it, but it also comes with a longer strap that just clips onto the sides which I thought was good too. I feels pretty sturdy and is a good size and shape for all your handbag bits and pieces! Will certainly be using this in the near future!

It also has studs on the bottom to deter wear and tear, brilliant!

Next in Primark I stumbled into there beauty range. Now I never though Primark would be that good at beauty but at the moment I am thoroughly impressed! First up….

Moisturising lip gloss crayon, Primark £1.50

Now, it’s out the packaging because I have already used this, and am loving it! It’s annoying that they don’t have colours on them, but this one is like a pale pink nude and it looks lovely! Really like it, and for £1.50, bargain is an understatement!

2 pack of Eye liner pencils with a pencil sharpener, Primark, £1

There’s only one in the packet, by the way, because I gave one to my mum! These I haven’t properly tried yet, but they’ve been recommended to me, so I’ll give them a go, again for £1 for two eye liners, you can’t go far wrong!

Packs of 'Fashion Nails' 24 nails with adhesive, Primark, £1

So I went a little crazy with the next item, but I do really love doing my nails and I saw a girl in my class wearing some of these and they looked really good, and really natural and she said they stayed on a long time and highly recommended them so, yeah! I got some just glossy pale bluey/green ones, some blue flowery ones, some red pop art ones and some kitty cat ones! £1 each!

Assorted hair bands, Primark, £1 each

Then I just got some more of the ever disappearing hair bands, including some no snag elastics which I think are really good for doing little braids, or anything where you just need a smaller hair band, so I got three different packs!

Classic Carmex, Primark, £2
Classic Carmex, Primark, £2

I can not recommend this stuff highly enough, I don’t know why it isn’t more popular and when I saw they had it in Primark I literally squealed with excitement! Carmex, if you can’t already tell is a lip balm, and it’s amazing! It soothes, moisturises and it’s simply lovely. I have one by my bed permanently but it’s running low so I grabbed another. They also had strawberry and mint flavour but I decided to stick to the classic one, just because I don’t always like a strong flavour lip balm.

And that’s it for Primark! Woo! Finally, I hear you cry! Next I went to Benefit, to pick up some concealers. I’ve tried so many different concealers to hide my horrible dark patches under my eyes, but I do think Benefit have it down. The first one I bought was one I’ve had before and loved, but couldn’t buy it again until because I simply couldn’t afford it.

Erase Paste, Benefit, £19.50
Erase Paste, Benefit, £19.50

Now it may look small, but trust me you do NOT need a lot and this means it last forever! It’s perfect for under your eyes and the odd blemish or two! It comes with a handy little spatula for getting it out the pot and if you’ve got a bit more cash to spare I would highly recommend this product.

Boi-ing concealer, Benefit, £17.50
Boi-ing concealer, Benefit, £17.50

Next this is Boi-ing and after borrowing my mum’s for the past week I decided to buy one myself finally! This claims to be more of an ‘industrial strength concealer’ for hiding circles, discoloration and shadows. Again this lasts a long time and to apply, simply pat it on the areas to conceal and pat to blend, likewise with Erase Paste.

And that’s it! Finished! That was my shopping haul! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, it’s taken me a while, but I knew you deserved a longer blog post as I’ve been somewhat AWOL for a while!

Please let me know what you think of this post and the things in it, don’t forget to follow and like too! Thanks!

Till the next time,

Beauty Excitement, Loki and a New Month!

Hi guys!

Its been a while but instead of moaning on about how awful a blogger I am, I have a few exciting things to share with you that are coming up on my blog!

Firstly, I can’t wait for a couple of Benefit products to come out later this month and next month! Those two products are ‘Big Easy’ and lip balms in the colours of the lip stains they do! I’m sooooo excited and will be buying them as soon as they come out, so I will be doing a review and first impressions blog post of those in a couple of months 🙂

Secondly, the new Thor film came out recently so of course I bought it straight away and watched start to finish over the weekend, ahhh Loki. ;D Yes my love for Tom Hiddleston hasn’t subsided…

Lastly it is now March and as I said awhile ago I am going to do a February  favourites blog post too, hopefully that will be in the next couple of days, so yeah, hopefully, you’ll be reading that too!

Till next time! Lucy xxx
